We are excited to announce that Linda will be Arc’s Writer in Residence for a whole year!

She will write as the ‘laureate’ of Arc, reflecting on key moments for us in 2023. Linda is a longstanding volunteer facilitator for Arc, inspiring participants of our wellbeing programmes, group members and exhibition visitors across Stockport with her passion for writing, strong opinions and wonderful sense of humour. She is a community poet, has published books, writes a popular blog Poetry Fluff, aimed at those who don’t like poetry, has residencies and exhibited as part of Arc’s borough-wide exhibition Stockport Together Again at SWMAG in Autumn 2021. Like all of us at Arc, Linda is an advocate for the huge benefits that creativity can have on wellbeing, so watch this space for inspiring thoughts and opportunities to create, connect and feel better!

“I write for myself, first and foremost, it’s a form of expression. It’s how I work out how I feel about things. I work through My Traumas; everybody has them.”

Here’s a selection of micro-poems that Linda recited during October’s Stockport Arts and Health week to whet your appetite….
