During October 2017 Arc will be launching the ‘Cherish’ project, designed to enable women from different communities and locations to connect, collaborate and share their experiences and stories. Inspired by the Indian Summer exhibition, three groups of women will be taking part in the project; one group of Arc participants and volunteers, groups from Stockport Women’s Centre and Manchester Bangladeshi Women’s Organisation. Each of the groups will participate in three creative workshops exploring the theme of identity. The groups will then come together to see their collective work before it is incorporated into a final piece of artwork due to be exhibited next year in the Arc Centre Gallery between 24th February and 18th March in time for International Women’s Day. The artist leading the project, Jasmine Walne, will also be liaising with Roshni, who will also be responding to the theme of the project and contributing towards the exhibition.
