Nature and Light – Jan 26th – Feb 13th 2019
Nature and Light SAZ MEDIA photography exhibition, Arc Centre Stockport is an exhibition of photography created by young people aged 12-17 attending SAZ MEDIA workshops from July 2018 at their studio in Stockport Town centre. Photographs taken at Reddish Vale Country Park will be displayed alongside expressive photographs of light painting, and the young photographers will be at the launch on Saturday Jan 26th presenting their experiences at 11.30 describing their experiences, artwork, the process and the programme, with opportunities to ‘meet the artist’ throughout the day, where young people will. Prints will also be available to buy.
“We provide film and photography content for commercial and personal use alongside providing workshops to up skill and enrich communities.” – SAZ MEDIA
SAZ MEDIA is a social enterprise based in Stockport supporting the community to learn photography skills to express themselves creatively and increase their health and wellbeing. SAZ MEDIA want to showcase the wonderful work created by young people in Stockport and give them a platform to express themselves through these images and hopefully gather interest from potential participants of future projects. The nature photography workshops take place at Reddish Vale, so to exhibit at a gallery in Reddish made perfect sense to Sara Auty of SAZ MEDIA.
“We would like to generate a conversation around photography and community space, we are looking forward to doing this at Arc.”
SAZ MEDIA will also be running a still life photography workshop at the January Saturday Art Club on the exhibition launch day, where you can learn a variety of photography techniques with the opportunity to learn the basics of operating a DSLR camera and what’s required to take well composed images. Images will be downloadable online after launch day. Plus a nature inspired activity run by the Arc team.
“Part of our role at Arc Centre is to provide a hub for creative activity in and around Stockport. We welcome new organisations such as Saz Media and want to support their work by offering them an exhibition space.”- Jacqui Wood, Artistic Director, Arc.
