Saturday February 22nd – Saturday April 26th 2025

Perspectives is a collaborative exhibition featuring Arc’s Arc in the Park and Self Care Creatives’ Vision of Stockport projects. This showcase celebrates the rich tapestry of Stockport’s heritage, community, and evolving landscapes through diverse artistic expression.

Arc in the Park

Arc in the Park is a project that invites people to explore the new Viaduct Park in Stockport through creativity. With creative walks responding to nearby Viaduct Park through photography, ink-water marbling, drawing and ceramics, participants explore how art-making promotes mindfulness, boosts wellbeing, and enhances their appreciation for their surroundings. It has brought over 70 people together, highlighting the therapeutic benefits of creativity in nature.

“Loved it! Sunshine, colours, company!”

“With photography you can see beauty everywhere, it helps you to notice things in the world around you.”

‘Perspectives’ is more than an exhibition—it’s a celebration of creativity, community, and the power of art to see the world in a new way. Whether you’re following the Vision of Stockport art trail, exploring the interactive displays, or discovering how Arc in the Park has brought people together through creativity.

Vision of Stockport

Led by Self Care Creatives, Vision of Stockport has transformed creative engagement in the community, bringing together local artists, organisations, and independent businesses. Through workshops in photography, embroidery, printmaking, journaling, and natural dyeing, people of all ages and backgrounds have had the opportunity to learn new skills, collaborate, and express themselves, celebrating Stockport’s people and heritage.

The project has resulted in the creation of four stunning community artworks, now proudly displayed across Stockport, including two at Arc. These pieces celebrate Stockport’s heritage, people, and evolution, offering a mapped trail for visitors to follow and experience the town’s creativity.

“The pride and joy radiated from participants as they contributed to this project—from a carefully placed stitch to a bold brushstroke or mastering digital design. This project has truly been a magical collaboration.”
