Following a sellout zoom course we’re delighted to offer this miniature book making course digital pack!
‘My Lockdown Story’ is a project to document your experience, exploring creative techniques such as collage and writing to produce a lovely miniature hardback concertina book. Artist Alison Waters and Arc’s Artistic Director Jacqui Wood will guide you through telling the story of your year, framed by lockdown, through a series of helpsheets and videos to create yours at home.
The pack is a focused opportunity to encourage positivity and creation over rumination and to pull on strings of hope, ending up with a thoughtful, beautiful and tangible artistic document of your experience to keep forever for reflection, to gift or even bequest to your descendants!
Your story will be yours, whatever it may be. Did you discover something new? Explore a new place? Grow in some way or realise something? Did you support others? Did your artistic practice develop?
The digital pack which will be emailed to you (or a friend if you are gifting it*), includes:
- An introduction and 3 helpsheets including a materials list, inspiration and examples for 9 book making, art and creative writing activities by artist Alison Waters and Arc’s Artistic Director Jacqui Wood
- Accompanying videos guiding you through the core activities
- The opportunity to be part of a large-scale autumn exhibition at Stockport War Memorial Art Gallery in collaboration with The Doll’s House Art Gallery, if your book is received by us by 31st August 2021.
