Arc Saturday Art Clubs
All ages are welcome on the last Saturday of every month January to November (excluding August) for Arc Saturday Art Club! A great family day out for art and craft lovers. If you’re looking for things to do in Stockport at weekends then look no further – we pride ourselves on organising unique and fun art clubs – more than just cutting and sticking, we plan activities than build new skills, collaborate with others, use specialist or uncommon materials and techniques that you might not be able to achieve at home – to ensure each club is exciting and memorable! Drop-in between 11:00-14:30. Join our Gallery Events Mailing List, Like our Facebook Page, or follow our event on Facebook to keep updated. Activities are designed to be suitable and enjoyable for adults as well as children, but you can also see what other adult workshops are running on the same days. The Gallery Cafe will be serving refreshments – please see visitor information here.
The Stockport Together Again exhibition opens on Saturday September 25th at 10:00 at Stockport War Memorial Art Gallery on Wellington Road South (A6), when all are welcome to come along and join in our free art activity from 11:00-15:00. Drop in upstairs at SWMAG to create your own ‘My Lockdown Story’ inspired concertina book. My Lockdown Story is an exhibit in the exhibition, a collection of books reflecting on life in lockdown through art, using pencils, watercolours, pens and collage materials. Create your own larger version on the exhibition’s launch day, drop in from 11:00-15:00 in the upper gallery. There will also be some fun pop-up Stockport buildings by Exvista / Kellsall Architects to create! My Lockdown Story is a project in collaboration with The Doll’s House Art Gallery. Donations to the charity are welcome on the day or at Justgiving.
After last year’s virtual success, we’re thrilled to announce we’ll be donning our best costumes and turning our studio into our own house of horrors on the 30th. There will be a range of ghostly activities to entertain you and your children, from a spooky sing-and-dance-a-long, horror story writing, to creating your own splatter monsters! We’ll also have activities that you can take home to enjoy! More details and make a pre-event donation here.
