25th February – 17th March 2017

Tamzin is a Levenshulme based artist who began ‘The Art of Running’ project on January 1st 2016. She has run over 100 times and many more miles than that throughout 2016, recording each journey within Stockport – many at Reddish Vale – with a photograph. See some of them from 25th February in the Arc Studio Gallery.

“I notice my surroundings more.. From the sound of birds and feel of my feet to the smells and sights around me.”

“I find that both creative and physical activity increase my resilience to the stresses of daily life. Not only am I feeling physically fitter through running, but I am more mentally alert through mindful running. It is important to me that these runs are local and highlight the beauty near where I live. I try to take a photo during each run using different techniques and subjects to keep learning and create an interesting body of work.”
